Position Summary: The Category Specialist is a member of Reinhart’s Category Management team primarily responsible for supporting the needs of the Category Directors located at our corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Working closely with Director(s) of specific product lines to analyze product assortment, profitability and trends.
Responsible to negotiate and secure new items to be sold to customers at the direction of the Divisions.
Analyze promotional item trends, maintain and update promotional documents with explanation of analysis.
Assist Category Management Team with key vendor activities and functions.
Manage the weekly product cutting process.
Has oversight responsibility for the National Supplier Agreement process. Manage communication and updates of agreements to Category Directors.
Serve as a key partner and interface between Reinhart’s Category Management and Pricing teams.
Conduct business reviews with Reinhart’s vendors, various categories and operating divisions.
Manage Master Vendor Document updates, department SharePoint site and approve invoices.
Create, analyze and publish commodity report.
Serve as a primary point of contact between corporate Category Director team in Rosemont, IL and Reinhart’s satellite location located in La Crosse, WI. Manage the Earned Distributor Reimbursement proofing, handle accounting related inquiries, provide customer contract support and address any quality support issues/requests.
Other projects or duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or equivalent related experience.
Strong attention to detail with good business acumen.
High degree of organization along with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Expert level in Excel
