Reyes Holdings Circular Economy Program Manager (Operations) in Mississauga, Ontario
Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Operations/Program Manager, Circularity is responsible for leveraging products for re-use opportunities and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders to promote the principles of a circular economy. Using this understanding, this role is intended to mitigate and minimize loss and waste throughout the supply chain. This role will lead all research, analysis, and company initiatives related to the circular economy and provide innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Manage relationship with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate projects and ensure alignment and efficient project delivery with circular economy initiatives/projects
Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders in the collection of materials from restaurants on a mutually agreeable schedule
Conduct research, best practices and recommendations based on sound industry standards
Develop strategic relationships in the industry that will drive value in circular economy initiatives
Stay updated on new developments in the industry and implement any trends that would improve the function overreaching objectives
Ensure the Circular Economy reporting dashboard monitors key performance indicators and provides valuable insights to help strategic decision making. Collect data, establish usage baselines, and program improvement measurements
Develop and implement process improvements in an integrated and collaborative manner that ensures success
Identify and complete business cases for potential projects, programs, and initiatives to generate more opportunities to reuse and recycle material, including available incentives and alternative financing options
Identify opportunities to reduce the business carbon footprint and increase landfill diversion for both MBC and customers
Lead and manage a new function within the business and ensure proper buy-in for its continued growth and success
Accountable for the coordination of resource planning across the Circular Economy team, as it relates to recycling and reusing materials but also any new or process improvement initiatives
Coach and develop future leaders with clear succession planning for the broader team
Trains and collaborates on sustainability strategies including environmental efforts, circular economy standards, and corporate social responsibility
Remain current on changing legislation, business standards, best practices and internal policies that impact the function
Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations
Other projects or duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental and sustainability management, business administration or related field
5+ years’ experience in circular initiatives, waste management, environmental programs and/or sustainability efforts or other related experience
3+ years of people management responsibility
Experience leading projects, completing them on time and on budget
Demonstrated experience in developing, leading, and influencing teams, especially in the development of new functions
Proven ability to create business cases and providing strong data analysis for management
Strong communications skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of management, along with all internal and external stakeholders
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage teams and create a collaborative work environment
Advanced skills in data analysis technology specifically Excel, PowerBI, etc.
The travel requirement is less than 10%
