A Transportation Specialist supports daily transportation operations including planning, scheduling manpower, equipment and all clerical duties. This position may be responsible for various types of driver related activities such as routing, driver check in and the monitoring, compliance and performance indicators for driver hours of service.
Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of related experience.
Proficient computer skills, including excel.
Proficient with Routing Programs, such as RoadNet.
Knowledge of transportation technology systems.
DOT compliance/regulations knowledge.
Ability to work independently.
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Logistics education.
• Food service distribution experience.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
• Support daily transportation operations.
• Assist in planning and scheduling employees and equipment.
• Oversee all aspects of daily routing.
• Maintain efficient routes.
• Up keep of route maintenance.
• HOS tracking.
• Communicating changes in routing.
• Working on reroutes and adding routes.
• Field calls from drivers.
• Other duties as assigned.
